Lighthouse Garden is proud to share their country pine antiques collection from various European countries including England, Hungary, Germany, Austria, and parts of Scandinavia. Over the years, this furniture has moved throughout Europe. Therefore, we share with you the countries from where they are collected, rather than the country of origin.

Benches

Unusual and one-of-a-kind describe the benches that look fabulous in entryways or used as seating at a table.

Most of the benches have a seat-box for storage. We have several different colors available along with natural pine.

Kitchen Cabinets and Armoires

These pieces are one-of-a-kind and often constructed out of several cabinets or wardrobes to deepen the cabinet and allow for modern conveniences such as a television.

Trunks (Dower Chests)

Dower chests were an important cultural symbol of a young girl's hopes for marriage, particularly in Germany and Austria. This type of trunk was used to store linens and other household accessories and was typically, decorated with traditional symbols such as: flowers, hearts, scrolls, birds, and/or geometrical shapes. Most dower chests were professionally constructed and given to a daughter by her father in preparation for marriage.

Tables

We have several interesting tables in the store right now. They are typically farm tables that served many functions. The legs on pine tables were often constructed of oak because oak is a stronger wood than pine.
